NOTICE

In concluding our series on Black History Month, The editorial staff of GAINAKO wish to thank all those who provide materials that made this celebration possible.

It is our hope by reflecting on our collective past and paying tribute to the men and women whose sacrifice helps liberate not only our people from the clutches of colonialism in Africa but led to the civil right act that finally put and end to institutionalised segragations, racism and the myth of racial superiority in America.

This we believed is our sacred DUTY

LATEST HIV TEST RESULTS FROM
JAMMEH'S PATIENTS: A NEW TESTING LAB
FOUND IN MOROCCO.
By our Banjul Correspondence .........................posted March 21st, 2007
As promised by gainako, news reaching us from our reliable sources in Banjul
has revealed that President Jammeh was openly angry at some of his patients
for engaging in sexual activity while under his treatment. The source also revealed
that the President has found a new lab in the kingdom of morocco to carry out
blood test on his patients. Below is the report from our confidential source.

President Jammeh has secured a new laboratory to carry out HIV/AIDS testing
on the patients he is currently treating for HIV/AIDS. A reliable source from
within the treatment camp has revealed that The Institute of National hygiene
and monocular virus laboratory in the kingdom of Morocco is the new testing
site for Jammeh's experimental treatment. The lab tests are being conducted by
one Professor Ragi El Awood from the Institute of National Hygiene and
monocular virus laboratory in Morocco our source revealed.

It could be recalled that Gainako reported last week that the President was actively seeking for an
alternative testing site since the highly credible Sheikh Anta Jobe University in Dakar Senegal refused
to carry out anymore testing in fear of losing their credibility to Jammeh's highly unsubstantiated HIV
treatment.

The selection of a laboratory testing site in the kingdom of Morocco may not be surprise to many
people as President Jammeh's wife Zainab Jammeh is from the kingdom of Morocco. Many people
suspected that the President would seek a close allied and a friendly location to carry the testing of his
HIV/AIDS patients he claimed to be curing. The President would have more credibility had a allowed
an independent and transparent agency to carryout testing his patients to remove any cloud of doubt on
his ability to cure the said patient.

Blood test coming from the lab has revealed the following test results for each individual patient. Since
it may be unethical for Gainako to identify the actual names and last names of the patients, we only
report the last name of patients for confidentially reasons: Our reliable source reported that the
following patients had undetectable HIV virus from their blood test according to the lab results.

Undetectable HIV virus in the blood
Fadera, Kawe, Jallow, Sowe, Saidy, Gibba, Sanyang, Touray, A. Sanneh, M. Sanneh, and manneh,
who was confirmed undetectable from a previous test,

The following patients were reported to have some Moderately Detectable HIV Virus: These are:
Tamba, Sidibeh, Jarju, F. Sanyang, Sey, and Krubally.

It was reported that the remaining patients who had been tested were detected to still have a high viral
load of the HIV Virus in their blood. The number of patients tested was not clear to our confidential
source. As a result, the source could not confirm whether all 36 patients were tested.

President Jammeh, after giving the patients their results went on to revealed that he is very unhappy
with some of the patients and on three occasions he wanted to dismiss 3 - 4 people from the treatment
for not following strict orders that are conditions of his treatment. He said it was with the intervention of
Dr. Mbowe; Momodou Sanyang Managing Director of GRTS, and others who appealed to him not to
dismiss these patients from the treatment. He further revealed that these few patients continue to
engage in sexual activity while on his medication. The President cum doctor prohibited his patients from
engaging in any sexual activity during the treatment process. He went on to joke that one month without
having a nice time (
sexual relations) cannot be compared to the stake at risk.

The President further added that the reason why he was not using the Holy Quran during his treatment
for 5 days was because, when he uses the Quran he exactly knows what his patients had been doing
for the last few days which make him very upset. He stressed that he is helping them but still they
continue to engage in sexual activities. He said nothing will prevent him from using the Quran and would
dismiss any one who is having sex during the course of the treatment. He warned his patients not to
take any thing from outsiders, be it a drink, or any of the liquids that is drinkable or applicable to their
body.

Finally, our confidential and reliable source concluded that it was not known who some of these
patients were having sexual activity with as alleged by Jammeh. Skeptics to Jammeh's treatment had
cautioned that the President's blunt declaration that he can cure HIV/AIDS would motivate others to
engage in promiscuous activities. This could endanger the lives of many as the virus could be
transmitted to other people.

....AND VAGABOND CHARGE
..........................By Yaya Bajo courtesy of Foroyaa........................Posted March 20th, 2007

Fourteen women were on Tuesday, sentenced to a fine of D1, 500 each or in default to serve one
month in prison. The fourteen women were convicted on charges of rogue and vagabond by the
Bundung Magistrate Court.

According to the charge sheet, the accused were on the 7th day of March, 2007 around the TDA in
the Kanifing Municipality and between the hours of 12 midnight and 1.30 am, found wandering, which
led to the conclusion that they were there for illegal or disorderly purposes. The accused persons
pleaded guilty.

Narrating the facts before a crowded courtroom, prosecutor 772 Samba said that on the day in
question, the police received a tip-off from the public that there were some ladies loitering around the
TDA at odd hours. “The police then set for a special patrol from 12 midnight to 2.00am based on the
information given to them by their informant. Upon their arrival at TDA, the accused persons were
interrogated and none of them were able to give good reason (s) on why they were at the place,” he
explained. 772 Samateh added that the accused persons were arrested and taken to Kotu police
station where they were further questioned and none of them mentioned that they owned a business or
are being employed at the area. He added that cautionary and voluntary statements were obtained
from them and thereafter a criminal case file established against them.

Delivering her judgment, Magistrate Amina Saho of the Bundung Magistrate Court said that the
accused persons have liberty to go out, but it must be within the limits of the law. She therefore
sentenced each to a fine of D1,500 or in default to serve one month in prison and are also expected to
keep the peace for six months or in default to serve another one month in prison.
