Beauty: A Poem by Aisha Saidy

The depth and sue of the soul
Within and outside
Tingling in the eyes of the beholder
Beauty,
With all emphasis
Not just the word but the meaning of it

I see it rough
You see it crazy
Some see it smooth
To many a self attribute
Universally unique
Comforting to the crying soul

A composite to a woman’s status
A boost for their self-esteem
A conical term lure by many men
Seducing the vulnerable womenTo their deceptive world

A wave so powerful
It carries the toughest of all
Be you independent woman
Be you the iron lady
Be you the professional woman
Be you at the top of the gameBeauty touches our softness
Thus we’re all stuck in its manipulative cycle.
