Brigadier Tamba Must Act Now!

By Yero Jallow, USA

I was dizzled to death that Tamba could see the elders of his village
of birth (Sintet) arrested and tortured in Kanillai including his own
family members without protesting in the open, knowing with a
knowledge of certainty that Jammeh and his fetish idealogy are dead
wrong. There is no iota of truth in arresting innocent Gambians in the
name of some witchcraft nonsense.  No doubt in my true testimony,
Tamba was a fine man, a man who earned the respect of his fellow
Sintetarians before the coming of the Jammeh companionship. I honestly
do not know now, but his continuous association with Jammeh puts him
in the same shoes as Jammeh –like father like son. It goes a long way
saluting Halifa Sallah who lives miles away from the innocent victims
yet fought to have the fetish behavior to a complete stop. Sidia who
protested in the National Assembly also did good by his protest.
During a recent visit home, innocent victims bitterly complained about
accusations of witchcraft which they know nothing about. Torture and
forceful concoction was inflicted on them with impunity at their own
disapproval.

I write this with a heavy heart that Brigadier Tamba is reading my
lines, with a brotherly spirit of a Gambia we all belong –that after
all of it, this administration will soon say bye-bye and a decent
Gambia will stay. I urge Tamba to stop boot-licking Jammeh’s “bum-baw”
or if he can’t, he should resign at once. Failure to fully
disassociate himself with Jammeh, he runs the risk of a similar
punishment awaiting the criminal administration. If it is only about
earning his living, I bet there are many other ways he can suffice for
his family. The thing with supporting Jammeh, he will soon victimize
Tamba as the wind circulates news of a an overthrow soon, just like he
did to hundreds of others , needless to mention names.  It is easy for
Jammeh to terolize decent Gambians and soon thereafter send some
“colanuts” to apologzie to innocent victims. Is Jammeh really ok in
his mind?? Personally, I don’t think so. No doctor can convince me
that Jammeh is not sick to his medula oblongata. With that, a
stipulation in our constitution made it clear that if a president is
mentally unstable, he can be declared “unfit” to rule and removed. I
suggest that Gambians look into that option in the quikest time
possible because we are loosing patience now.

For Jammeh himself, he does have options at his disposal before it is
too late. I personally think, he can vacate the palace without any
delay and submit himself to justice. Trust me, Gambians will ensure he
is given justice in a court of law. This will be followed by
“reconciliation” among all Gambians where terror will finally say
bye-bye and will mark the arrival of a true justice system. Failure to
heed to this advice, will put him more in a dilemma, because Gambians
and their friends are getting tired of his nonsenses by the hour. It
is about that time now that Jammeh must leave “by all means
necessary.” So Brigadier Tamba, you know fully well that you have to
act now and wisely
