No Mercy for Sacked Ministers, Opined a Reader!

Dear editors,

I read with interest all the arguments about the sacked ministers
including those of Works and Infrastructure minister, Lamin Bojang; Fisheries and National Assembly minister, Antouman Saho; and Tourism and Culture minister, Ms Nancy Njie.

Firstly it is important to reveal that these are the same coward men and women just like our so-called military officials hiding in the West that helped entrenched Jammeh in power and continued suppressing the masses. Since he was appointed Lamin Bojang had done nothing to improve the infrastructure of the country. Travelling to and from Banjul is more difficult than ever before talk-less of travelling to the provinces or other towns around the country which I will called a nightmare.

Antouman Saho has been busy clapping and dancing for Jammeh until he was appointed in the diplomatic corp. and finally as Fisheries and National Assembly Minister. Since his appointment as minister, Saho continued his praise singing business while the tourism industry remained to be in total misery and disarray. Jobs has been lost in the industry while small businesses taken out of operation.

For Nancy Njie, she was busy promoting Tourism as if Gambian culture was as a ‘Jola Culture’. I recently watched the concluded ‘Roots Festival’ where she was highlighting and praising Jammeh and the Jolas with few of her friends she invited from the UK. One of them called Ana Njie from London originally from Senegal and claiming to be her relative who cannot get a decent job in the UK was also seen preaching pro-APRC slogans. These people are hopeless and we will continue to suffer from this brutal dictator until we stop blaming Jammeh for everything and sympathising with those who supported the dictatorship and keep entrenching Jammeh
lies in and outside the country.

These ministers have been complaining that Jammeh never allowed him to do their job independently, but it was better for them to resign rather than to wait to be disgracefully humiliated and sacked. What kind of human beings are these people?

When Fatoumatta Jahumpha Ceesay was sacked everyone in Banjul was laughing as she masterminded the cruel laws passed in Parliament to give more powers to Jammeh and suppressed the people much further. Even the so-called ‘new press’ Fatoumatta helped organised with some of its members sent to Cuba, Venezuela, Libya, Taiwan etc to study journalism with the hope of returning home to take over the Gambian press did
not materialised. Her revolutionising the press by changing them with puppets of Jammeh and throwing principled journalist in jail was on course. Now the same Fatoumatta is sending people begging the dictator to accept her back.

I agree that there should be sympathy for her as well because her intention was devastating not only for independent minded Gambians but also to the APRC regime. Sacked ministers deserves no sympathy.
