
The Gambia Families Association of Atlanta (GFAA) expands the mother’s day 2010 weekend activities to a two day event starting Saturday May 08th thru Sunday May 09th, 2010. With the event barely two months away, GFAA is hereby extending an invitation to all Gambian families and friends from everywhere to attend this year’s event organized on behalf of Gambian women and children.
Already dubbed by many as the second biggest gathering for Gambians in Atlanta, this year’s activities will include a fundraising party and a soccer tournament on Saturday, and subsequently close with the much anticipated family picnic on Sunday May 09th, 2010 @ the Ben Hill Recreation Center on 2405 Fairburn Road, Atlanta, Georgia 30331.
With the date fast approaching, now is the time to gear up and plan accordingly. It is time for the ladies to get your gorgeous and colorful spring outfits together and come join GFAA honor and celebrate motherhood with a twist. Therefore we encourage every Gambian and friends in the diasporas to come to Atlanta for this Mother’s Day weekend especially those in the neighboring states like North Carolina, Washington Dc, New York, Ohio, Tennessee, Alabama, Detroit, Chicago, Minnesota and other states.
After a seemingly long and cold winter, it’s finally time for some outdoor fun and activities. With DJ King Solomon accompanied by Djs Sheikh and Ous Corr poised to entertain the crowd to the fullest, added with a package of fun programs for the children to participate in. Not to mention a blend of cultural and possible performances by some famous artists, it is certain that this will be a Mother’s Day Family event like none other before in Atlanta.
Gambia Families Association of Atlanta (GFAA) is hereby once again inviting all Gambian families and friends, young and old from all over the world to attend this remarkable weekend in honor of our, women, mothers and mothers-to-be.
The events are scheduled to take place on Saturday May 8th and Sunday, May 09th, 2010 in Atlanta, Georgia. It is guaranteed to be fun and entertaining, and a chance to also see old friends and family members.
The Gambia Families Association is encouraging all Gambians in the Atlanta area to help in this cause by contributing only $10 or anything one can afford. We would also gladly accept other donations in the form of food, water, and manpower to help make this remarkable event geared towards fostering families possible.
